Arlene M. Otteson

Otteson, Arlene M. STOUGHTON-Arlene M. Otteson, age 86, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Stoughton Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1929, in Madison, the only child of Marvin and Agnes (Thompson) Anderson. Arlene graduated from Stoughton High School. She married Robert L. Otteson, her high school sweetheart, on Nov. 7, 1948, at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church. Together, they were blessed with four children. Arlene was a lifelong member of West Koshkonong Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening, reading and crocheting afghans for her family. Arlene was very proud of her family and loved being surrounded with little ones. She was a euchre player and a woman who will be remembered for her strength and laughter. Arlene is survived by her children, Rene Bain, Kay (Jim) Rodgers, Sherrie (Paul) Tyler and Steve (Carol) Otteson; grandchildren, Chad McClain, Jeff Bain, Ben (Rhonda) Schultz, Andy Schultz, Jason Tyler, Kari (Trent) Bettenhausen, Alyssa Otteson and Ashley Otteson; great-grandchildren, Alex, Tyce, Tara, Ava, Mick, Willow, Jackson and Brianna; sister-in law, Nancy Holzhuter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers-in-law, Otto (Jean) Otteson and Glenn Holzhuter. Funeral services will be held at WEST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1911 Koshkonong Rd., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, with the Rev. Richard Dowling presiding. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
