Adler, Peter J. "Pete"
WAUSAU/MARSHFIELD-Peter J. "Pete" Adler, age 71, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015, after a long fight with leukemia. He was born on Feb. 8, 1944, in Marshfield, and graduated from Columbus High School in Marshfield. Pete was united in marriage to Suzanne Huebl on Oct. 7, 1967, in Pittsville, and they honeymooned in Honolulu, Hawaii. Together they had two sons, Doug and Barry. Pete served in Vietnam and worked as a union brick and block mason for over 40 years in Florida and the Midwest. He was an artist with bricks and stone. He retired in Wausau, Wisc., in 2006 and relocated to Madison in April of 2015. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and gardening. Peter's favorite vacation spot was Sedona, Ariz. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his sons Doug (Tammy) of Oregon and Barry (Melanie) of Madison; grandchildren, Nick, Madelyn, Quinn and Jacek; and his sister-in-law, Carol of Wausau. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Margaret; and brother, Gerry. A celebration of Pete's life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the Ryan Ambulance, Agrace HospiceCare staff in Fitchburg, Dr. Onitilo (St. Claire's Hospital) and his staff and Dr. Juckett (UW Hospital) and his staff. So sorry to hear of the passing of Pete. I never got to know him as well as his brother Gerry. Gerry and I were the same age. I do remember him at the last cousin reunion in Marshfield. When I was growing up, I would visit Marshfield with my parents and we would visit all the families there. We lived in Milwaukee. It's too bad we didn't have more of those reunions.
