Obituary

Ellestad, Joanne G. FRIENDSHIP/MADISON – Joanne G. Ellestad, age 86, of Friendship, formerly of Madison, died on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Dells. She was born on Dec. 13, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Florence Groff. Joanne married Nordean "Corby" Ellestad on Oct. 2, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Madison. She was a member of the United in Christ Lutheran Church in Dellwood. Joanne was a very hard worker, providing for her family in various roles. She was employed with the State of Wisconsin, worked as a banker, and at a daycare center. Joanne was a talented seamstress and painter and loved making crafts. She was successful in everything that she did. Joanne is survived by her son, Tim (Darlene) Ellestad of Friendship; granddaughter, Tricia Ellestad of Chippewa Falls; brother, Frank "Bud" (Delores) Groff of Madison; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Nordean. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, June 4, 2015, with the Rev. Phillip Enderle presiding. Entombment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
