Uno Rentmeister

CROSS PLAINS-Uno Rentmeister, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Wm. S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison.  He was born on August 19, 1931 in Estonia, the son of Ernst and Nadesenda Rentmeister. Uno was united in marriage to Barbro Gronberg on Sept. 20, 1958 in Bogota, N. J.  They had one son, Peter, and settled in Sherman Oaks, Calif., where they lived until Barbro's death in 2006.  Uno worked as a mechanical engineer for Lockheed Martin Aerospace Company, designing parts for the F117 Stealth Fighter as well as for the N.A.S.A. space program.  He enjoyed scuba diving, traveling, spending time with friends, and his passion was photography.  Uno is survived by his son Peter (Heather) Rentmeister and grandchildren, Caitlin and Thomas Rentmeister, all of Cross Plains; a brother-in-law, Mats (Violet) Gronberg, nephew, Johan Gronberg and niece Anna (Mikael) Gronberg, all of Sweden.  Uno was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Barbro.  Military honors will be accorded on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 12 Noon at CROSS PLAINS AMERICAN LEGION POST NO. 245, 2217 American Legion Drive, Cross Plains.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the military honors at the Cross Plains American Legion Post.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Uno's memory to the Badge Honor Flight, P.O.
