Larson, Wayne L.
MADISON –Wayne L. Larson, age 84, went to heaven on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. His passing was caused by pneumonia as a result of heart and Parkinson's disease. Wayne was born on Sept. 15, 1930, in Madison. He graduated in 1949 from East High School in Madison. He lettered in track and participated in A Cappella Choir, and placed first at the State Golf Tournament. Wayne was honorably discharged from the Army in 1951. He retired from Madison Gas and Electric (MG&E) after 40 years of service. Wayne was a leader in 4-H projects. He loved to fly and build RC airplanes with his son. Wayne enjoyed watching his daughters' horse shows and was an avid Packers fan who got a special thrill from Brett Favre. Wayne is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. (Vaughan) Larson; children, Timothy Larson of Portland, Ore., Tamara (Kevin Miller) Larson of Freeport, Ill., and Traci (Robert) Scheuermann of Mason, Ohio; four grandchildren, Dana (Dave) Schaeffer, Nathan (Kris) Gassen, Amber Scheuermann and Robert (Chelsea) Scheuermann; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Marlene) Larson; sisters, Betty (Robert) Hinrichs and Jean (Chris) Ramos; and his faithful canine companion, "Patches". He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Bertha (Ramsfield) Larson; in-laws, Wayne and Elinor (Pedley) Vaughan; brother-in-law, Jack Vaughan; and step-granddaughter, Alexis Anderson. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Wayne was a loving Christian husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son. He was a true friend who will be missed greatly. We are to be comforted that he now rests in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

i'm so sorry to hear that wayne passed away. our families always had a great time when we got together. my dad and wayne and tim and i always enjoyed going to the flying field, fond memories ,I can remember going to the EAA airfield every year as well in Oskosh, what great memories, my thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Wayne is in a better place,I can imagine he is talking with my dad and Bill kettle from the flying field ....Dean R.Thompson,Athens,AL.
