Obituary
Bellefeuille, Leon J.
MADISON–Leon J. Bellefeuille, age 88, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Sebring Assisted Living in Madison. He was born in Callaway, Minnesota, on February 8, 1927, to Dolor and Rosalba (Rochleau) Bellefeuille. Leon married Deloris Rasmussen on November 29, 1948, in Madison. He was employed by Ohio Medical, retiring in 1990, after 47 years of service. Leon is survived by his children, Craig (Sue) Bellefeuille, Nancy (Kirk) Harden, Julie (Steve) Phillips, Donna (John) Matthews and Garry (Laura Bozek) Bellefeuille; grandchildren, Ron (Kim) Bellefeuille, Scott (Tracy) Bellefeuille, Justin (Justine) Harden, Kory Harden, Ben Matthews, Anna Matthews, Haley Bellefeuille and Megan Bellefeuille; step-grandson, Eric (Melissa Lewis) Phillips; and several great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Mercedes Bakon of Chevy Chase, Maryland; and several other relatives. Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; son, Brian; infant daughter, Lynne; and brother, Howard Bellefeuille. Dad was a "character." We will remember him for his vast knowledge of all things nature, classical music, anything mechanical or weather-related and readiness to deliver a story or joke. We love you and will miss you but know you are at peace and reunited with Mom and the others. Thank you to all of dad's doctors and nurses, and especially to everyone at Sebring who took such good care of him. According to his wishes, a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I have been honered to have met Leon during his care at Wisconsin Heart. Every week he would visit us he brightened my day with his smile, wit and charm. Upon finding out I am from Northern MN he shared so many fond memories of his younger years in MN. The best story Leon told me was about the true legend of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox and where they first got their start:) I shared the story with my seven year old daughter that day. Truly one of my favorite people I have ever met. Such a positive outlook but when times were tough he used humor to get through. He has left an everlasting impression in my life.
My sincere condolences,
Kellie

We have many fond memories of the 15 years we lived on Maher Ave. and we're neighbor of Leon and your family. Billy and I stopped and visited with Leon a couple of years ago. He was as we always remembered him; big smile and happy to see us.
All the best to you. Sharon and Bill Bowen

I saw your dad 10 years ago at the gun club. We were having a Sather family Christmas get together and he was there. It was so nice to see him again I talked with him a long time. He got us all caught up on all his family. He was a very nice man, so sorry for your loss. Pamela Sather Schaller

I was a friend of your fathers for many years while I was working at Ohmeda and also while I owned the Buckeye Inn in the late 70's and early 80's. He was a very reliable friend who would try to help you repair anything. He was also always a lot of fun to pull tricks on. I offer your family my sympathy.
