Art Peter Ptaszynski

Ptaszynski, Art MONONA- Art Ptaszynski, age 88 of Monona, passed away April 11, 2015 at home. He was born on Oct. 19, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Frank and Jennie Ptaszynski. He married Virginia Ziesemer on Feb. 11, 1950, in Kenosha. Art was drafted into the U.S. Army after high school and served in World War II and the Korean War. He attended Ripon College and was a partner for Badger Wholesale Lumber. Art is survived by his three sons, Michael of Monona, Gregory (Peggy) of Madison, and Gene of Monona; two daughters, Ann (Larry) Schuler of Stoughton and Christine Gardenier (fiancé David Lawson) of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Adam and Ryan (fiancé Wendy Beckwith) Schuler, Jenna (Zak) Gordon and Steven (Monica) Gardenier, and Josh (Shawn) Ptaszynski and Nick Ptaszynski; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; infant daughter, Eileen; brother, Frank; and sister, Vivian. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, with Father John Silva presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or St. Jude.
