Thoreson, Coral FITCHBURG-Coral Thoreson, age 86, of Fitchburg, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on June 20, 1928, in Ipswich Suffolk, England, the daughter of Herbert and Rose (Mann) Ladbrook. Coral grew up in England and met her future husband, Elton Thoreson on a blind date when he was stationed there during World War II. They married on March 6, 1945, in Ipswich, England. Coral was not able to travel home with her new husband until 1946, when she came to Wisconsin. The couple made their home in Westby and later Sheboygan. Coral and Elton moved to Madison in 1984. She loved reading, knitting, traveling and being together with her family. Coral is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl (Hilton Weathers) Thoreson of Madison; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David; and siblings, Gordon, Vera (Len) Fenton, Joan (Joe) Kennedy. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 27, 2015, with the Rev. Richard Johnson presiding. Burial will be held at Coon Prairie Cemetery in Westby at 2:30 p.m., on Monday. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare. A very special thank you to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their loving care of Coral. How sad to lose a loved one no matter the age. We know that your dear one was loved and will be missed. There is one thing that will bring the greatest comfort to you. God has promised mankind this.
