Obituary

Karlov, Victoria L. MADISON -Victoria L. Karlov, age 62, of Madison, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, April 11, 2015. She was born on March 3, 1953, in Chicago, the daughter of Raymond and Arlene Karlov. Victoria met the love of her life, David Higgins, while riding his bus to class at Purdue University. They married Aug. 3, 1979 and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Chelsea (Patrick) Fait and Alison Higgins. Vicki adored her girls and always said that motherhood was the best thing she ever did. Vicki shared her special gifts as a teacher at UW-Madison Preschool Lab. Her kindness and loving spirit touched so many lives – young and old. She was a passionate culinary artist, creating gourmet meals for her family and friends. Vicki’s love guided her sister, Judi Karlov, and her children, Ross, Lauren and Riley. Although heartbroken, her family and friends will spread the love she shared with the world. Special thanks to the ICU staff at Meriter Hospital for their generous care and support. I was so sad when my daughter told me recently of Vicky's illness. Carol texted me this morning that the battle had been lost. I hurt for your loss. So much time has past since we were neighbors in Rustic Ridge, but the good times are not forgotten. Praying that you find peace in God's love.

I am so sorry to see the news of Vicki's passing. I worked with her at the Preschool Lab from 2002-2005 and not only was she a joy to work with, but she taught me so much about being an educator. I was impressed daily at her patience and enthusiasm with the two-year-olds in her classroom :) More recently, I saw her a few times at the restaurant where I worked in Madison and was able to meet her family - the love and pride for them was radiating from her. Sending love and peace to her family - and her PSL family - during this time.

We were so deeply saddened to read of Vicki's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Vicki at CDI during the early 80's. What a delight..........the most positve person I ever worked with. She was always smiling and brought pure joy to everyone around her............the big people and the little ones!! Over the years I would run in to Vicki at various places.........Woodmans, Kennedy Little League, and garage sales. I always loved catching up with her and seeing Judi and Chelsea and Alison and hearing about David. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this difficult time. One thing I do know is that the little ones in heaven now have a loving and cheerful soul to guide them. Vicki was such a Blessing and will be greatly missed. God Bless you all.
