Obituary
Chadwick, Frederic J. (Bud)
MIDDLETON-Frederic J. (Bud) Chadwick passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015, at Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care Center. He was born on Aug. 26, 1928, in Westby, Wis. and graduated from Westby High School in 1947. Fred was a star football player and graduated late due to a broken leg suffered while scoring the winning touchdown. On April 2, 1949, he married Anna Marie Drake and raised five children. Also in 1949, Fred began a 41 year career at Ray-O-Vac on Winnebago Street in Madison. He retired from Ray-O-Vac in 1990, as a Mix Room Supervisor. Fred or Bud as he was known to many family and friends and his wife Ann were members of the Loyal Order of Moose Club until it closed in the late 1990’s. They enjoyed traveling in the motor home with his sisters and brother-in-law. “On the road again” was a favorite song when it was time to hit the road and see the country. Fred and Ann also loved “going out to boogie” as well as playing cards and bingo with the many friends they made throughout their lives. Fred enjoyed fishing, golf, and bowling and was an avid Badgers and Packers fan. His sense of humor, quick wit and musical talents which came through in his singing, whistling and harmonica playing will never leave our memories. Fred is survived by his daughters, Katherine Speth and Kim (Don) Ossmann both of Middleton; his son, Steven of Wyocena; daughter-in-law, Cindy Chadwick; granddaughters, Erica, Heather, Lyndsay and Shawna; grandson, Robert; great-grandsons, Kyle and Jordan; great-granddaughter, Jade; and a great-great-granddaughter, Fiona; as well as many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; a daughter, Terri Garske; his son, Frederic Jr.; and a grandson, Cody Ossmann. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. A special thank you to Fred’s favorite nurse, Emily, from Home Health United who spent so much time and energy caring for him and making him care for himself. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Agrace HospiceCare or Home Health United. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
