Obituary
VERONA – David J. Dwyer, age 79, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born on August 18, 1935 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Russ and Ruth (Riddle) Dwyer. Dave was united in marriage to Jacki Johnson on March 8, 1961, in Chicago, Ill. He proudly served in the United States Army. Following his discharge, he used the GI Bill to attend flight school. He was a corporate pilot for over 30 years, flying around the world several times. During his career, he was the Chief Pilot for Lands End and flew for the Comer family for over 20 years. Dave shared his love of flying with many young pilots as their instructor. He loved adventures, skiing, spending time at his lake homes and boating. Flying the sea plane to the yatch in the Mediterrian was a cherished memory for Dave. Dave was a loving father, a proud uncle and true friend to everyone he cared about. Always a gentleman, he loved the ladies and a good time! He is survived by his daughter, Caroline (Paul) Clanton; granddaughter, Bailee; his long term care companion, Shelly; 11 “Johnson” nephews and 2 “Johnson” nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Jacki ; his only son, Michael “Mr. Mook” ; loving sisters, Claudie and Eileen Dwyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2015 Parmenter St., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 with the Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of the mass at church. A Luncheon and Celebration will be held after the Mass at Claddagh Irish Pub, 1611 Aspen Commons, in Greenway Station, Middleton. Burial will take place in David’s hometown of Chicago, Ill.
