Mary Wagner

STOUGHTON-Mary Wagner, age 91, of Stoughton, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at her home in the Skaalen Retirement Community. She was born on June 1, 1923, in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of Joseph and Louisa (Holbl) Weinreich. She married Kurt Wagner on Nov. 11, 1945, in Passaic, N.J. Mary was very active in the community volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Mother and with the Mothers Guild of Don Bosco High School. She loved crafts and was a gifted crocheter, as evidenced by the many personalized afghans owned by family members. Mary and Kurt owned and operated Hill-N-Dale Power Equipment in Woodcliff Lake, N.J. In 1983, Mary and Kurt retired to Lakehurst, N.J. and then in 2005, to Stoughton to be closer to their family. Mary is survived by her son, Brian (Diane) Wagner; grandsons, Robert, Daniel (Kim) and Kurt; niece, Nadine (Nick) Vitagliano; and sister-in-law, Doris Wagner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kurt in 2008; and sister, Hedy DaGiau. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Skaalen Retirement, Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers for their loving care of Mary. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51 @ Jackson St., Stoughton, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., on Monday, March 9, 2015. A funeral service will be held at SKAALEN NURSING HOME CHAPEL, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, at 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, with the Rev. James Koza presiding. You may visit with the family at the Skaalen Chapel before the service starting at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mary’s memory to the Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
