Obituary
MADISON- Rosella Erickson, age 82, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015. She was born on March 1, 1933 in Madison, the daughter of George and Goldie (Hildestadt) Hemel. Rosella was raised on a farm between Bristol and Sun Prairie. She attended a one room school house and graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1951. Rosella had a very strong faith and taught Sunday school. She married Leonard Erickson on Sept. 15, 1956 and together they raised three daughters. She was a very dedicated wife and mother, was always keeping in touch with people and meeting new friends. The more people she knew, the happier she was. Rosella shared many good times and memories with many family and friends especially with her sister Delores. She enjoyed traveling, especially the cruise to Hawaii, and more recently Mexico with her two daughters. Rosella liked music, polkaing and other dancing. She was very proud of her husband, Leonard’s music, especially when he wrote and recorded, “He’s Always There” and “I Had a Talk with Jesus”. Rosella’s one and only granddaughter, Sarah Rose was the light of her life. She and Sarah spent countless hours together and shared a love for American Girl dolls. Rosella is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Jim) Wilkinson and Laura Erickson; granddaughter, Sarah Rose; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; daughter, Sandy Lewis; and sister, Delores Foulk.

A Journey Remembered
As some people journey through life,
they leave footprints
wherever they go –
footprints of kindness and love,
courage and compassion,
humor and inspiration,
joy and faith.
Even when they are gone,
we can still look back
and clearly see
the trail they left behind –
a trail bright with hope
that invites us to follow.
Praying you’ll be comforted with precious memories
and God’s presence, to care for you in your loss.
Rosella, left a footprint of many wonderful memories
on my heart, and those of my family.
May those who surround you in the days ahead,
bring you memories, comfort, and a peaceful heart.
Much love,
Jodi Igl, and The Bowers Families
Blessed are those…who walk in the light of Your presence.

Elaine and Laura, my deepest sympathies , love, and prayers are with you and all your family in your sorrow and loss of your mother. Rosella was a beautiful loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. How fortunate I was to have her walk my way in life, for it isn't often that you meet some one you can share your secrets with, laugh about them, and know they will never go any further. Thank you all for sharing her with me. I'll miss those talks and laughs and "wild goose chases" we had together! The memories we are left with are God's gift to those left behind--something that no one can take from us! Without a doubt, everyone who knew Rosella has a multitude of those memories to keep her ever present!
Love, Mary Raemisch
