Gary David Runk

Runk, Gary D. MONONA-Gary D. Runk, age 64, of Monona, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg. He was born on Oct. 6, 1950, in Port Huron, Mich., the son of Walter and Theresa (Demeter) Runk. Gary was united in marriage to Judy K. (Ruemler) Jones on April 26, 1997, at St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds, Ind. He was a former employee of Massey Ferguson, Racine, NCR Dayton, OH and Waukesha, Wis. and for the past 20 years he was employed with the State of Wisconsin, Department of Health and Social Services as an IT support specialist. Gary loved ballroom dancing with Judy and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed classical music and in his spare time biking, sailing and cross country skiing. Gary was a Big Brother through Lutheran Social Services in the Milwaukee area and was a former active member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee. He also served as a volunteer for the City of Monona transit committee for many years. Gary is survived by his wife, Judy; mother, Theresa Allen; step-daughters, Jerilyn (Adam) Kind and Justine Jones; grandchildren, Brennan and Lillian Kind and Devin and Ashley O’Leary; sister, Beverly (Stephen) Barclay; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. A funeral service will be held at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, Wis., at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015 and at the MILLER-ROSCKA FUNERAL HOME, 6368 Highway 24, Monticello, Ind., at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Burial will take place in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds, Ind. Visitations will be held at the Gunderson Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday and at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
