Mosel, Caryl Mae
MADISON–Caryl Mae Mosel, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at home. She was born on March 26, 1923, in Cottage Grove, the daughter of Morton and Mabel (Olson) Severson. She married Frank Mosel on April 19, 1941, in Madison. Caryl graduated from East High School. She raised her children and then went to work for the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources. Caryl was a member of the Grieg Club for many years and enjoyed bowling, cooking, spending time at the cottage, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Caryl is survived by her children, Robert (Sharon) Mosel of Minden, Nev., James (Bev) Mosel of Madison, Susan (Brenda Onken) Mosel of Oregon, Allan Mosel of Madison, David (Jeanne) Mosel of Lodi; 19 grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer), Thomas, Shelly (Chris), Mindy (Troy), Jason (Heather), Mike (Jenny), Troy (Jonna), Diane (Randi), Cheyanne, Amy, Dawn, Kat, Keelie (Jamie), Richard, Shane (Jenny), Becky (Beau), Andy (Amanda), Sara, Jessica (Cory); 15 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Charlotte, Oliver, Brittney, Jake, Rand, Mikayla, Tyler, Makhai, Malayah, Kiya, Brianna, Spencer, Tyler, and Jazzmyn; son-in-law, Bill DeBroux; and her cat, Colby. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 1999; daughters, Maureen DeBroux, and Patricia Gray; three great-grandchildren, Angie, Jerimhai, and Curtis; and sister, Arlene (Dean) Parker. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare. The family would like to give a special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare staff members, Nicole, Sarah, Sharon, Loretta, and Melissa, as well as the volunteers for their love, care, and compassion that they gave to our mother. You will be greatly missed. We loved you Caryl, you were the last one who called me "Stevie" ( for over 70 years). You were a comfort to Ilse when she was homesick in the 60s and after we retired in the 70s. You will never be forgotten. A truly great woman.
