Mahsem, Alan Joseph
McFARLAND–Alan Joseph Mahsem, age 62, of McFarland, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at his home. He was born on Nov. 14, 1952, in Park Falls, the son of Joseph Mahsem and Mary (Lawrence) Hess. Alan was united in marriage to Bekki Rogers in 1992. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and union man who grew up and graduated from McFarland. Alan was a fan of German Shepherds and classic cars. He loved to cook and fed the neighborhood. Alan was a two-time cancer survivor and a wonderful and protective big brother. He would have been a great grandfather. He is survived by his son, Joe Mahsem; daughter, Elizabeth “Libbi” Mahsem; sisters, Linda Burkhart , Margaret (Tim) Kohl and Mary (Brad) Seymour; aunt, Katy Passenau; and good friend, Robert Colwell. Alan was preceded in death by his parents; and his dog, Schatzee. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
