Obituary

HAARKLAU, ELLEN ANN (LITSCHAUER) LODI-Ellen Ann (Litschauer) Haarklau, passed away on February 23, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born March 25, 1940, the daughter of Marvin and Kathryn Litschauer in Madison, WI. After graduating High School, she entered the school of nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital. Upon graduating Nursing School, she married the love of her life, Roger J. Haarklau, on September 2, 1961. Ellen had a long and distinguished career in nursing, where she cared for the elderly, of which she was very compassionate about. Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. Ellen’s other passions were her home they built in 1973 in the middle of six acres of woods, traveling, reading, going out to eat and times spent with family, friends and her companion Ozzie. Ellen is survived by her husband of 53 years; her son, Kevin (Kathy); her daughter, Kathy (Todd Warczak); grandsons, Roger M. (Denise) and Tyler (Kim); great grandchildren, Keaton and Kadence; her best friend, Sandy DeWaal and several relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Justin Haarklau. Funeral Services will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 South Main St., Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 with Reverend Sandra Schieble presiding. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Mom, the life lessons you taught us are in valuable, we will always love you and miss you. Mom you’ve earned your wings, go fly.
