Brenda: I have not met you but have known Pete since 1990 when he was one of my Reservists at the NMCRC in Madison with the SECGU unit. He was one of my most dependable sailors, and a good friend. He also was a dedicated supporter after I retired from the Navy and was applying for jobs with the State. In fact I believe that it was his reference conversation with my hiring supervisor that clinched my getting that first job. He was a great human being, and a fine naval officer. I will miss him. /Tony Veeder

Van Ness Family: My name is Pam Dyer. I am the granddaughter of Rose and Millard Rappe. They lived next door on the corner. I spent weekends with them and most of the summer. My girlfriend and I would see Peter in the back yard and think "Oh he is soooo cute! We were about 12 years old. I also remember Peter as a customer when he worked for the State of WI because he was a customer of State Capitol Credit Union where I worked. I remember asking him-"Are you from Lodi?" Sure enough he was the Van Ness I remembered. I just wanted to send you something from the past. He was a very nice gentleman. My sincere condolences.
