Obituary
MADISON - Anna Mary "Ancy" Weimer, 101 years young, died peacefully on Thursday,
February 26 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born to Jacob and Anna
Yoder Wagenhurst on November 9, 1913 in Washington, New Jersey. Much beloved by
family and friends for her impish sense of humor, sweet loving nature and contagious
laugh, she led a full and wonderful life.
Growing up in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she met the love of her life, John Blakely
Weimer, when both were eight years old. They married in 1947 and lived in
Pennsylvania and Milford, Connecticut where he was a practicing dental surgeon.
Graduating from Geisinger Medical Center, she worked as a Registered Nurse before
raising two children and doing volunteer nursing for the Red Cross. In retirement, the
couple moved to Florida and enjoyed many happy years there. In later life, she loved
traveling the world, parties, cryptograms, Danielle Steele books-on-tape, a good joke
and a nightly nip of Canadian Club.
She is survived by her beloved daughter and daughter-in-law, Linda Weimer and Jean
Lang of Middleton, and by her beloved niece and nephew Patricia and Gary Jay of
Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews and special friends of all
ages throughout the country to whom she gave great love and pleasure. She was
preceded in death by her sons Richard and Andrew, her husband John, her parents and
her sisters Janet and Lois. Her love of life, faith, and optimistic, generous nature gave
her remarkable health and longevity.
The family would like to thank her large "extended family" in the Madison area, the staff
and good friends at the Jefferson in Middleton, the Health Corps aides who looked after
her so lovingly, her special friends Evie Elton and Joanne Salmon and the incomparably
wonderful caregivers at Agrace.
A celebration of her life will be held later this spring. In lieu of memorial contributions,
friends and family are invited to give in her name to organizations of their choice

Condolences Ancy Weimer,
Your smile, your laugh, your cheerful face no one can ever take your place. So rest in peace and once in a awhile it's still in style. Have a nip on me and then after awhile remember the good times, the bad food and yet remember I love you and will never forget.
Love, Evey
