FITCHBURG- Nancy Solberg, age 65, died in her sleep surrounded by her family and loved ones, early Tuesday morning, Feb. 10, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare, after battling cancer. She was born in Mauston, on Oct. 16, 1949, the daughter of Dorothy and Everett Solberg. Nancy retired as the finance director and treasurer for the City of Fitchburg in 2012. She was passionate about her family, friends, and her dogs, most recently Cole. Nancy enjoyed being in the water, crafting, and she was always up for a new adventure traveling with her friends. She had a great sense of humor and was loved and supported by many people. Nancy is survived by her sister, Sandra (Larry) Chisman; two nephews, Ryan and Troy Chisman; niece, Jenna LaPalme; and their families. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Dennis. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. A private family burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution on behalf of Nancy to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or Agrace HospiceCare. We have so many wonderful memories with Nancy. She loved coming up to the lake with Skye and Cinders.. I am so thankful we got to visit with her and Cole last yr.
