Obituary
MIDDLETON-Pauline C. Harrop, age 60, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at her home, from pancreatic cancer. She was born on July 28, 1954, in St. Croix Falls, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Kazuko Mary Bublitz. She grew up in Cornell, Wis., and was a 1972 graduate of Cornell High School. Pauline attended UW-LaCrosse and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Mass Communication. It was in LaCrosse that she met her beloved husband, Don. They were married on Sept. 1, 1979. Together they settled in the Madison area, where Pauline worked first for Stephen & Brady Advertising, and then for Meriter Health Services since 1982. She loved her work as Director of Governance for Meriter and formed many close and beautiful friendships with her colleagues there. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed movies, playing the piano, organizing family events and spending time with family and friends, knitting, creating the family’s annual Christmas card, and was just beginning to learn the fun of gardening. Pauline is survived by the two greatest joys of her life, her daughter, Ashley (fiance, Ben Squier) of Middleton and her son, Donny of Minneapolis. Being their mother was her proudest accomplishment. She is also survived by her father, Walter Bublitz of Waunakee; brothers, Walt (Karen) Bublitz of Poynette and Dan (Gayle) Bublitz of Phelps; sisters, Pam (Kim) Cordahl of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Amy Bublitz (Steve Kohl) of Lodi. She is further survived by her mother- and father-in-law, Don and Veronica Harrop of Middleton; sister-in-law, Mary Anne (Gerry) Nonn of Rochester, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Jim (Thelma) Harrop of Cumming, Ga., and Mike (Elaine) Harrop of Middleton; and many special cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, other extended family member and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; mother; sister-in-law, Judy Nelson; and brother-in-law, Bill Harrop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. There will be a private burial service at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Meriter Foundation or to the Pauline Harrop Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Ashley and Donny, as chaplain at Meriter and friend of your mom, I saw the greatest love a mother can have for her children. She loved you both so much, was so proud of you both, and cared much more that the two of you would be OK than herself. My life was blessed to know Mom, and her beautiful graciousness and warm presence. She will always be with you in this life, and again in that next even better life to come that she so faithfully believed in. I am in Florida and won't be able to be with you tomorrow and Monday. But you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate Mom's life, and grieve her loss, and celebrate the new life she has free of pain. Heaven just got better.

Pauline was a beautiful person. She was one of the first ladies that started craft night. Sympathy and prayers go out to her family. Especially her children. Rest is peace Pauline. You are now reunited with Don.

Ashley and Donny -
I had the privilege of working with your mom for many years. She was a joy to work with. She brought out the best in everyone she touched. I loved her sense of humor and laugh. She cared very much for the two of you. She shared your successes with great pride. I am in Florida this week and will miss the services held in her honor. I will be with with you in thoughts and prayers. May her memories comfort you and the strength she showed in all that she tackled always be a part of you.
