Arlene Hallie Reese

Reese, Arlene Hallie (Nesbit) MADISON/MAPLE BLUFF–Arlene Hallie (Nesbit) Reese, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep and was reunited with her husband, on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Attic Angels. She was born on July 31, 1922, in Brooklyn, Wis., the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth Nesbit. Arlene married Maurice J. Reese on July 21, 1941, at the Methodist Church in Belleville. She was a devoted wife and had a profound love for her husband. She was also a loving mother to her three children, Richard, Robert, and Kathleen. Arlene had a love for cooking and provided gourmet meals for her family and friends. She was an accomplished artist and painter. Arlene maintained a luxurious garden that was featured in the Olbrich Gardens Home Garden Tour. She and Maurice enjoyed spending their winters at their home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Arlene is survived by her three children, Richard (Pam), Robert (Donna), and Kathleen Reese; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Tera, Aaron, Lauren, Brent, Liesl, and John; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol (Nesbit) Zielke. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at noon, on Monday, March 9, 2015, with the Rev. Carly Kuntz presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Olbrich Gardens.
