Keith Frederickson

Frederickson, Keith N. MONONA–Keith N. Frederickson, age 83, of Monona, passed away surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at St. Mary’s Care Center. He was born in Spring Green, Wis., on July 14, 1931, the son of Carl and Ellen (Hansen) Frederickson. He served his country in the U.S. Army for four years and served in the Korean War from 1953-1955. After his return home, Keith married the love of his life, Dorothy Bindl on May 14, 1955. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Monona, as well as the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Council No. 4856 in Madison for over 50 years. Over the years, Keith worked as a store manager for Stop-n-Go, Gardner’s Baking Company and he and Dorothy owned and operated the Koffee Kup restaurant in Stoughton for over 10 years. After retirement, Keith enjoyed delivering flowers for Felly’s in the Madison area. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, playing cards and watching the Packers and Badgers, but Keith’s greatest joy came from his family. He really enjoyed spending time with his growing family, especially at his cottage, “Up North” and on the holidays. He always told Dorothy “The best years of our lives were when we were raising our family.” Keith is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy of 59 years; and his five children, Terri (Tad) Mickelson, Mary Kay (Tom) Clauder, Bill (Shawn) Frederickson; Keith (Laurie) Frederickson, and Joan (Don) Kazel, Jr.; all of the Madison area, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Beverly) Frederickson of Florida, and Dean (Pat) Frederickson of Madison; sister, Sharon (Ronald) Seely of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl K. Frederickson; sisters-in-law, Darlene and Delores Frederickson; and a nephew, Richard Frederickson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or Wisconsin Chapter of American Parkinson’s Disease Association. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at St. Mary’s Care Center for the care and compassion given to our husband and father over the past two years.
