Richard Edwin Lord

Richard E. Lord, age 83, made his peace with the Lord and said goodbye to his family on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. If you knew Dick, you knew he had an incredible sense of humor. What you may not have known was that his humor was often used to rile the unsuspecting and was always followed with a wink out of sight of his victim. And then he would laugh. Missing his laugh the most are his special friend Helen Sampson, children, Teresa Padrutt (friend Zeke), James Lord (Joan), Terri Wipperfurth (Leroy), stepson Lon Jiran (Terrie), his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and brothers Bob and Phil. Richard was born to Edwin and Helen (Kaul) Lord on September 28, 1931. He had six siblings, Joan, Fritz, Philip, Edwin, Robert, and James. He enlisted in the Army and then Army Air Force, had four children, with his former wife, Marian (Funk) Meier, and founded Dane Electric. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Richard, his siblings, Joan, Fritz, Ed, James, and a long-time companion, Shirley Jiran. A private graveside service is planned. All family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Dane Village Hall, 102 W Main Street, from 1:00 to 5:00 on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Pal, we will say goodbye to you as you always did to us. "Will see ya."
