Obituary
Lodi -William J. “Bill” Robinson, age 85, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 surrounded by his daughters at Our House in Lodi. He was born on December 7, 1929, in Montello, the son of Samuel and Lucy (Cummings) Robinson. Bill loved the wild places, often sharing his memories of snowmobiling and chasing muskies in the Wisconsin Northwoods as well as his experiences hunting Mule Deer and Elk in Colorado. He was an avid reader, where true to form he could often be found reading a western about others that enjoyed the wild places. True to his peers of the Greatest Generation, Bill served his country and community in many ways, including his service in the U.S. Navy, Leadership on the Montello City Council, and his membership in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Bill valued a strong work ethic as was evidenced through his 33 years at Bakerite Baking Co. and later through his work with the Montello School District. Most of all, Bill was dedicated to his family. When visiting with Bill, conversations centered around his family and getting caught up on recent events. After visits from friends and family, Bill would always be heard to say as the visitors were leaving, “Let me know if you need anything!” In the words of Bill’s favorite Author, Louis LaMour, Bill was, “a man to ride the river with.”
Bill is survived by his daughters, Linda (Stewart) McReath, Sally (Donald) Lloyd, Barb (Keith) Bandt, Laura (Gary) Moeller, Janet (Steve) Sheller, Renee Gilmore, Becky (Dennis) Klapper and Lucy (Dean ) Hess; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Claire (Shirley) Robinson and Ralph (Linda) Robinson and two sisters, Janice Neale and Sharon (Dave) Clark. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, Donald, John, Ken, Bette Stick and Ruth Williams and a special friend, Lillian Schultz. In honor of Bill’s wishes, private family burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dale Fanney and the staff of the Lodi Clinic, Our House of Lodi and Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Bill Robinson, From Richard and Judy Swenson.
It was great to have worked with Bill at Bake-Rite Baking Company. I ran his route many a time when
he would go on vacation. He was a great salesman. God Bless you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with my 8 nieces and their families.. I always enjoyed the bantering back and forth with your Dad when he was the Bake Rite bread guy and i worked at Smarts and Nankivell's grocery stores. Also enjoyed visiting when he was home and then the nursing home. It was quite interesting that if you didn't see him for a month or two, the conversation seemed to just continue on from the last visit. I hope he keeps Betty, Bob, Jack, Ken, Donald & Ruth in line.

Wishing all you daughters comfort and respite after taking such good care of Bill. Hunce was recalling how he and Bill were enlisted by Lucy to sing duets at many of her "ladies affairs." We shall miss him on Underwood Ave. God Bless!!! Love from,
