Obituary
Dukelow, Lloyd David Malcom “Dave”
FITCHBURG-Lloyd David Malcom Dukelow “Dave”, age 62, passed away suddenly on Monday morning, Jan. 5, 2015, with his loving wife of 38 years, Peggy, by his side. Dave “Duke” was born on Dec. 29, 1952, in Michigan, the son of Bruce and Janet (Harkness) Dukelow. He graduated from Pompano Beach High School in 1970 and earned his BS in business from the Florida State University in 1975 where he was a member of Phi Tau Fraternity. In 1976, Dave met his wife, best friend and life-long love, Margaret “Peggy” Brandt. They were married shortly after their graduation from Florida State University on July 10, 1976. Dave’s career in sales with Anheuser Bush brought them to many locations but ultimately they settled in Madison in 1980. It was here that they planted their roots, raised two wonderful sons, Brian and Adam, and established life-long friendships that easily became their extended family. Dave had a long and successful sales career at General Beverage Companies where he grew his client base and territory and was a dedicated employee for over 16 years. In 1995, Dave became the president of Huber Brewing Co. in Monroe, Wis. Most recently he was in corporate sales covering a territory in Wisconsin. Dave’s passions and interests touched the lives of many people who, as a result, became his family. He was an avid softball player and manager of many teams including the Twin City Brewers, Lums/Berghoff, and Lucky’s Bar & Grille. He played on teams with many of the same friends for over 30 years. Together with Peg and the boys, he enjoyed countless summer nights and weekends at ball diamonds in the company of dear friends. Most recently he managed an “Over 50” national traveling team that was the recipient of numerous awards, and kept him active in the sport he loved dearly. Dave also was a dedicated and beloved coach of Fitchburg soccer and baseball teams as his sons were growing up. His joy and passion was to mentor the younger athletes to reach their full potential, have fun and enjoy the sport they played. It was not uncommon to see him in the stands cheering on many of his former players as they grew older. Dave also loved his yearly fishing trip to Canada with an incredible group of guys that treated each other like brothers. He was the recent planner behind this 30-year tradition which grew to include many father/son fishing duos. Competitive ping pong was also a passion for him, and he always found a way to be a part of this sport while on vacation or most recently, winning the championship at Nakoma Golf Club where he was a member. Dave’s true happiness came from spending time with his wife, Peggy, his beloved sons, Brian and Adam, and his dear friends either at a ball diamond, cheering on the Badgers, enjoying a great steak dinner, or sipping a Korbel & Pepsi at a tailgate. He was a dedicated Badger fan with season tickets to men’s basketball and attended every home football game, recently celebrating the Outback Bowl victory with family and friends on New Year’s Day. Dave was a great listener with a contagious smile who loved to share stories and jokes with friends of all ages (and he had many). The friendship, joy and fun he brought to his family and friends are immeasurable, and we are forever grateful for the many lessons he has shared with us. Dave is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Peg; devoted sons, Brian (Christy) and Adam (Lesley); loving sisters-in-law, Carole Brandt and Shirley and Richard Campbell; nieces and nephews; and countless special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Bruce. A funeral service will be held at THE CHURCH AT CHRIST MEMORIAL, 2833 Raritan Rd., Fitchburg, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015. A private burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County. “Dave, all who have been able to call you Father, Uncle, dear friend and coach have been blessed beyond words to have you in their life. I am the luckiest of all to have called you husband. You are my forever love,” Peg. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Peggy and family,
Beth and I just got the news of Dave's passing. We are shocked and cannot express how deeply saddened we are for all of you. Duke was a favorite and always had a good word and a great smile. He was a special part of a special group of people. It is times such as this that we wish we were closer to our friends in Madison to wrap our arms around you. You are in our thoughts!

Peggy, Brian and Adam...I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Dave was a great guy and touched many lives around the sport scene in Madison. His smile was infectious and stories captivating. It was an honor to play ball with him and one thing is for certain, the team "upstairs" just got a heck of a lot better!
