I lived next door to Bea and Pat for over 20 years. They were the kindest, most generous and caring neighbors anyone could desire. They were full of life, fun and energy that belied their years. My favorite memory of Bea was her explaining how she met Pat, who was obviously still the love of her life. She said that as a young working woman she would walk up the street and be admired by her handsome future husband. After a while she confronted him, asking why he was looking at her like that. She reported that he said he was just giving her "a physical". To great peals of laughter she reported that she must have passed because, at that time, they had been married more than 50 happy years. Pat and Bea were devoted to each other and made my years on Somerset Lane happy and memorable.

I am honored and blessed to have known Bea; she was truly a blessing in my life and I miss her terribly. She was a woman who loved everyone who came in contact with her, and she did not hesitate to tell them so. She in turn was loved by every caregiver at the Artisan Senior Living - Middleton I, facility in Middleton, WI.
One of my favorite memories of Bea was when we said The Lord’s Prayer together. She would hug me to her, while we prayed; when we finished praying, we would smile at each other, and she would thank me. Another favorite memory I have is: One day, as she ran her hand up and down my arm, she commented that I was so thin. She asked me, “How much do you weight?” I told her, “100 lbs.” She then said, “100 and what?” I said, “A straight 100 lbs.” That is when she started calling me, “My 100lb cutie”. When someone we love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Bea gave me many memories to treasure.
She was a beautiful soul, full of love and faith; remembering her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain within a very special place in my heart.
