Kopp, Joshua James
MCFARLAND – Joshua James Kopp, age 16, of McFarland, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on Oct. 20, 1998, in Madison, the son of Michael and Mary (Zakrzewski) Kopp. Joshua was a sophomore at McFarland High School where he played on the JV soccer team and was on the honor roll. Joshua is survived by his parents; brother, Joey; sister, Sarah; paternal grandparents, Betty Kopp and Roger Dennis Kopp; maternal grandparents, Rich and Barb Zakrzewski; aunts and uncles, Patti and Greg, Carole and Eric and Stephen; cousins, Katie, Aimee, Emily and Nathan; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, Monona, at noon, on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, with Joshua’s great uncle, Father Jerome C. Kienzle and Father D. Stephen Smith concelebrating. Burial will be at the Town of Dunn Burying Ground. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship will be established in Joshua’s name through the McFarland Education Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Kopp family - there is no amount of "I'm sorry ' s" & " my thoughts and prayers are with you" that could ever make this pain go away because pain hits us when it matters & Josh mattered. He was one of the most kind hearted & funny young man that I knew. He was a wonderful friend to Damon and many others. Mary, Michael, Joey and Sarah,
I will never forget the first I met Josh. I was walking up to the lake with Ashely in her prom dress and remember seeing this nervous young man in his tuxedo fumbling with the flowers, not knowing what to say. He found his voice that night and became a permant fixture in our home and in our hearts. He has meant a great deal to our family and had became one of our own. His smerking smile and his light hearted jokes and his big appetite will be missed. I am blessed to have known him and for the unconditional love he had for our daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
