She was preceded in death by Tom, her husband of 57 years; her parents; two brothers, Howard and Raymond Schoenike; sister-in-law, Fran (Jim) Faytis; and brothers-in-law, Ben (Dorothy) Salzwedel and Earl Lange. A memorial service will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, with the Rev. Curtis Everson presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Dear Salzwedel family-- Lila was one of the loveliest and sweetest ladies I have ever known. I only knew her through our East Town mall walkers. We solved a lot of the world's problems even though no one listened to us. She loved her kids and grandchildren so much. Ann, you are the only one I knew and you are very much like her. Roger and I are living in an old peoples complex in Manitowoc where our son lives. I'm in an assisted living part to help with my stroke and Roger is in the dementia unit. Love, Roger and Skip Deicher PS I started writing this before and my computer, fingers and my mind like to play tricks on me and it disappeared.
