Obituary

Green, Edward C. “Eddie” MADISON–Edward C. “Eddie” Green, age 80, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on May 1, 1934, in Madison, the son of Ernest and Ethel (Anderson) Green. He married Nancy Morehouse on Sept. 5, 1953. Eddie was an East High School graduate. He worked for Madison Newspapers for 27 years and then for the City of Madison, Parks Department, and later the City of Madison, Water Utilities, retiring in 1998. Eddie was a member of the Grieg club, and the American Cribbage Association, where he placed second in the nation, and was in minor league softball, retiring in his 70’s. He was a Sheepshead mentor, coached little league in Monona and a Marquette drop-in for years when the boys were younger. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Brewers, and anything Badger. Eddie is survived by his three sons, David (Marcia) of McFarland, James (Denise), and Robert (Elisabeth), both of Madison; eight grandchildren, Jimi (Jodi) Green, Carrie (Greg) Cline, Eric (Kate) Green, Kristin (Cody) Sims, Michelle Green, Christopher (Taryn) Green, Lisa (Jason) Breunig, and Kevin Green; 11 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Jordan, Caroline, Faith, Matthew, Mackenzie, Jaelyn, Nicholas, Jocelyn, Violet, and Lucas; special niece, Beverly Jean; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; and two sisters, Virginia and Betty. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. A special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare and the Rev. I used to love to "play" with Eddie and the other "boys" on Thursday nights at the club! He was so funny and sweet! I've been missing him lately. Rest in peace, Eddie. Condolences to the family. I know you all loved him very much. Joani S.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember gatherings in the summer for picnics at the house and I remember christmas parties with all the family. Always was a good time. Debbie Giannattasio.
