Obituary

Harris, Frederick W. MADISON- Fred Harris, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, the son of Frederick and Marion (Irvine) Harris on Feb. 28, 1936. Following graduation from Milwaukee Rufus King High School, Fred served in the U.S. Army. Returning home, Fred attended UW- Milwaukee, receiving his degree in political science. He began his working career in the insurance industry and eventually ended up in Madison where he began his own company, Capitol Adjustment Company. Fred enjoyed simple pleasures, such as convertible cars, going out for long drives, the Sunday paper, and held a passion for military history. But he was happiest just spending time with his family. Fred is survived by his four children, Meg (Byron) Lee, Ed Harris, Susan Abel and Bob (Marybell) Harris; six grandchildren, Matt LaCount, Brandon and Alex Lee, Kaitlyn Harris, and Emily and Daniel Harris; sister, Marilyn (Richard) Kruske; brother, Paul (Alice) Irvine; and many other loving family and friends. A gathering will be announced in the spring to celebrate Fred’s life. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of St. Mary’s Care Center, for their years of loving care.
