Edward Berrisford O'Neill

O’Neill, Edward Berrisford MADISON-Edward Berrisford O’Neill, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Karmenta Nursing and Rehabilitation in Madison. He was born on Feb. 10, 1929, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of Eugene Francis and Mary Irene (Berrisford) O’Neill. He married Dorothy “Joan” Barnes on Aug. 7, 1956. Edward served for over 24 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam. After retirement he returned to college studying at UW-Madison with an emphasis in business. Edward was an active member of the St. Dennis Catholic Church and an administrator for St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. He was also active with the Catholic Dioceses and will always be remembered for his passionate work and support of the St. Vincent De Paul organization. Edward is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Joan”; daughters, Mary (Randy) Zink and Eileen O’Neill Estes; grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Zink, Mallory Zink, Danielle Zink, Nolan Estes, Katya Estes, and Cameron Estes; great-grandson, Logan Zink; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene Jr. (Jo); and sisters, Alice (Ken), Irene (Glen), and Laura. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
