Everett Bates

My deepest sympathies to the family of Mr. Bates. My late father, Floyd Helgesen worked as a custodian with Mr. Bates at East High School and used to speak of Mr. Bates as a friendly, hard working man who he enjoyed working with.

Will miss my GREAT Uncle Everrett... He was the only sibling left of my grandmother; Norma Evarts, (his sister). I spent considerable time with him while I was in WI visiting last year. I asked alot of questions knowing he was the last of a generation who might know some of the answers to my questions... He was a sweet gentle man who I know worked hard all of his life and who also had a great sense of humor...He could also play a "mean" game of cribbage! I have fond memories of him from my childhood.
