Obituary

MIDDLETON-Jean (Beans) Lincicum Oak, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, the 22nd of December, 2014 after a short, but brave and courageous struggle with cancer. Her loved ones are grateful that she passed without suffering, remaining her youthful, active self until the end. They celebrate a life that touched and improved so many others' lives personally and professionally. Jean was a retired "highly skilled and adaptable" professional water skier for the Tommy Bartlett Water Ski Show, Wisconsin Dells, WI. She skied professionally from 1958-1962, including several overseas tours with the Bartlett USO ski shows entertaining troops and dignitaries’ world wide. Jean was a very proud American and “old fashioned“ in values… She was a private, soft spoken individual that kept her thoughts and feelings to herself, but always carried and entrusted a tremendous compassion and understanding of others. Her place in the hearts of all who loved her is secure, but she will be dearly missed and will remain with us always. Jean met Glenn at the Bartlett show where they both skied and, as they say, the fairy tale began. Forty-five magnificent years later, until Glenn’s death in 2004, they were life long soul mates, best friends, ambassadors of good will and avid world travelers. Although they met standing on water supported by wooden slats, they both were active, highly skilled and faithful “snow ski bunnies” partaking in their annual trips to world renown ski resorts. They loved traveling the world together. Jean leaves behind many dear friends with whom she would "hold a board meeting" each afternoon at the Middleton Sport Bowl. To Jean, every day was always a good day. She practiced and lived by her motto; that we all should live each day as if it were our last one! She is survived by one sister Mrs. Joleen Sullivan, her husband Jack, Fort Mill, SC, and two brothers; Jim Lincicum, Middleton, WI, Joey Lincicum, Wisconsin Dells, WI; two nieces, Tanja J. Sullivan DePass, husband Marshall, Isle of Palms, SC and their children, Hartley and Brycen and Stacie Anne Sullivan, Rock Hill, SC, husband Ben and their children, Marlie and Cooper plus many close and dear friends. Jean was preceded by her parents George H. (Joe) Lincicum; Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty / Sis) Lincicum; husband, Glenn Oak; and brother Jack J. Lincicum. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the USO and Southern Care Hospice, Madison, WI. or to their local chapter of Hospice. I remember Jean from the Lakeland (Florida) waterski Club and later the Seattle Worlds Fair in 1962. I skied as Oly The Clown at the Fair and remember Jean and Glen very well. Dave Bayhan
