Obituary
Theisen, Dolores S.
MADISON- Dolores S. Theisen, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, after patiently living with dementia for the past twelve years. She was born in Madison on July 11, 1922, to William and Mary Kurt. She attended St. Bernard’s Grade School and graduated from Madison East High School in 1940. Dolores married Kenneth Theisen on Sept. 12, 1944, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Madison. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary at a family brunch. Dolores was deeply committed to her Catholic faith, and along with her husband Ken, raised their five children to love God, and be generous with others. She was very devoted to their children. Dolores is survived by Teri (Dave) Kinney, Sue (Dan) Bailey, Jeanne (Bob) Dye, Bill (Glo) Theisen, and Jeff (Dee) Theisen. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Steve Kinney and Jill (Dave) Yanke, grandson-in-law, Dennis Owen, Theresa (Kevin) Hanko, Dan Dye, Kris (John) Ehle, Brent (Keely) Theisen, Derek (Marcy) Theisen, Andrea Theisen, and Becki (Carlo) Arellano. She also leaves nineteen great-grandchildren, with two more due this spring. Dolores was a member of St. Bernard’s for 50 years, and St. Dennis for 42 years. She and Ken attended daily Mass, were active members in the Schoenstatt Movement in the Catholic Church, members of East Side Club for over 30 years, and the Catholic Knights Insurance Society where she was treasurer for many years. Dolores was known for baking her famous dinner rolls, chocolate chip cookies, and angel food cakes. She enjoyed crafts, particularly making Christmas tree ornaments. She also enjoyed going to the casino, but her favorite activity was enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores was an avid card player, specializing in euchre and 500, and traveling with Ken all over the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Europe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Edwin Kurt; her sisters, Catherine Imhoff, Marie Huber, and Marjory Gallagher; and a granddaughter, Julie Owen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. with a rosary being recited at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Special thanks to Dr. Albert Musa, Julie Minor and the staff at Oak Park Place, and the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their compassionate care. We are grateful for the many ways you all added to her quality of life during the past few years. Her life has been one of support and service to her family and friends. Now we rejoice that she is resting in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Memorials may be made to the Schoenstott Sisters, Agrace HospiceCare, St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Dennis Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice. My deepest sympathy to the Theisen family. I always saw your mom at the Webcrafter's picnics and Christmas parties. Your mom and wife was so nice and easy to get along with . She had a nice smile and was full of joy.

I always enjoyed visiting with your parents at the ESC functions. She always had to share some news with me about her family, whom she adored. My sympathy to all of you. She was one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew. I was one of the Gaylord waitresses. She will be missed by all.

Ken Theisen and Family,
The Residents and Staff at Oak Park Place would like to extend our thoughts and prayers with our dear Ken and the family. Dolores will always be remembered as such a beautiful women. I mostly treasure her bow making skills in our craft groups. She loved playing bingo and was joy to be around.
Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on. Cherished memories never fade, because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
Deepest Sympathy,
Julie Minor
