Obituary

McFall, Deborah Ann MADISON–Deborah Ann McFall, age 64, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 7, 1950, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Marian (Kimball) Woollen. Debbie married Ronald “Ron” McFall on Oct. 26, 1985 in Madison. She attended Edgewood High School and MATC. Debbie was employed at Stotlar & Stotlar, CPA, until her health forced her to retire. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2002. Debbie told cancer, “not today.” That, “not today,” turned into 12 years of wonderful memories and of course, varying struggles. She always enjoyed a good joke, filling out her basketball brackets, going on long weekend trips with Ron which included taking in a hot air balloon show, sightseeing or finding the next covered bridge. Debbie held her family and friends near to her heart. In the end she said, “Today is the Day,” leaving on her terms. Debbie is survived by her husband Ron; children, Steve Lorenz of Madison, Tom (Sandy) Lorenz of Oregon, Brian (Sonia) McFall of Minnetonka, Minn, Brett (Karin) McFall of Windsor; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Lenora, Isaac, Adam, Michaela, Emma and Nathan; siblings, Mike (Brenda) Woollen, Terry (Kathie) Gaus-Woollen and Jeff Woollen; numerous other relatives and friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Mary Kay Woollen. A Celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at noon, on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. As you continue your journey, make it an adventure. We know you will be there watching over us. With all our love, goodbye Debbie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave., Madison, WI. 53792 Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. I was so sad to read about Debbie's passing. I have enjoyed her as a client at Manhattan Hair Designs for many years. She was always upbeat and sympathetic to other peoples problems, putting hers in the background. What a beautiful lady-she will be missed. Sincerely, Liz Swingen

When Debbie was in the fifth and sixth grade and I was in the 4th and 5th, we would play school for hours. We used their dining room table as our "desks" and would prepare math tests and english tests for each other. When we did get tired of playing school, we would watch the Twilight Zone in the basement in the dark! Or we would play kickball in the street with manholes and trees as the bases. We had such fun - memories that I will keep forever. I lost touch with Debbie through the years after I moved away from Madison, but I did think of her often. Please accept my sympathy to all the family. I know that you will miss her, but we can rest in the promise that we will see her again in Heaven - when we can say "Today is our day" and we meet again. With sympathy, Vickie Stotts Evans

I would like to express my condolences to your family, it can be hard for friends and family to find the right words to express at difficult times like these. The Bible is a great source to look into and has helped me personally when My dad passed away. A comforting thought is at Revelation 21:3,4, where it states "...And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry be anymore the former things have past away". This scripture gives us hope for the future! You can also find comfort in Acts 24:15 - Death does not end it all. May Jehovah God bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time. (Ps.46:1, Ps.83:18)
