Patricia Josephine Bredeson

MONONA-Patricia Josephine (Giese) Bredeson, age 91, of Monona passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, in Madison. She was born on Oct. 11, 1923 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Hilbert and Margarette Giese. Patricia married Llewellyn Bredeson on Oct. 26, 1943 in Rapid City, SD. She worked as a switchboard operator at the telephone company in Madison, then was very successful as an in-home salesperson for Dutchmaid clothing. Later, Patricia enjoyed providing food and product samples for customers in local grocery stores and being a volunteer at the VA Hospital. She had a very positive, outgoing, friendly, and cheerful personality. Patricia never spoke ill of anyone and was always there for those who needed her. Family and friends were very important to her and she always enjoyed spending time, including vacations, with them. Patricia is survived by her children, Sue (Dale) Nelson of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Pam (Kelly) Brewer of Madison; grandsons, Glenn Kuehn of Eau Claire and Nicholas (Kim) Brewer of Oshkosh; great-granddaughter, Aurora Brewer; stepsister, Liz (Les) Fafard of East Troy; sisters-in-law, Marion (Dean) Gotzion of Deerfield and Pauline Bredeson of Madison; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepmother, Anne Savrnoch; sister, Margaret Polglase; and brother-in-law, Phil Bredeson. Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Rd., Monona, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, with Pastor Nick Utphall presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 p.m. to the time of service on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Patricia’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
