Obituary
MADISON-Shirley A. Le Roy, age 78, of Madison passed away on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, under hospice care. She was born on Jan. 24, 1936, in Montello, the daughter of John and Mervina (Volk) McMahon. Shirley married Bruce W. Le Roy on Dec. 27, 1958 in Montello. She worked for various Eastside banks for her career and retired in 2001 from Bank One as Vice President. Bruce and Shirley were longtime members of St. Dennis Catholic Church and Eastside Businessman Association. She inherited a lifelong interest in horse racing, banking and knitting. Recently, she organized the local Mad City Crankers Club meeting in October. Shirley is survived by her son, Shelley (Ann) Le Roy; daughter, Paula (John) Obmascher; grandchildren, Sara, Ryan, and Michelle Le Roy, and Kayla and Kalena Obmascher; sister, Sharon Abraham; and brothers, Terrence Mc Mahon and Brian Mc Mahon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Audrey Morgan. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014. Burial will be at Westfield South Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday. Donations can be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church in Shirley’s name. Our deepest sympathy to Shirley's family. She was a valued member of our group, the Mad City Crankers (antique sock machine knitting machines), and we will miss her participation as treasurer of the planning committee for our annual event every fall as well as at our monthly crank-ins.
