Rita C. Amdahl

MADISON- Rita C. Amdahl, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. She was born on Jan. 27, 1929, outside of Martinsville, the daughter of Peter and Gertrude Laufenberg. She resided in Madison for 68 years. Rita worked for many years at the University Hospital in Madison and retired in 1996. At that time she was given a special honor. Her work in the Cancer Center Research Laboratory was recognized by Dr. Carbone, M.D. He spoke of her work ethic and wished her well in her retirement. She is survived by sisters, Loretta Nordness and Genevieve (Conrad) Markley; a brother, Robert (Mona) Laufenberg; a daughter, Karen Lippitt; a son, Ronald Amdahl; grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Cockrum, Bonnie (Kevin) Tuttle, Roger (Sarah) Lippitt and David (Jenni) Lippitt; her great grandchildren, include Evie, Cara, Ellie, Leo, Ben, and Lexy. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Amdahl; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will take place at GRACE EVANGELICAL CHURCH, 4127 County Rd. AB, Madison, at Noon on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, with the Rev. Jeremy Straus presiding. Visitation will be held at the church at 11 a.m. until the time of services on Monday. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Waunakee. Memorial gifts can be donated to Grace Evangelical Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
