Obituary
CAMBRIDGE - Jennifer Mary Garland, age 58, of Cambridge, passed away at Meriter Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, after a relentless two year battle against cancer. She was born on Nov 7, 1956, in Madison, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Linden) Usher. She married Ross Graham Garland on July 6, 1991. Together they have raised their two children, Lillian and Alex. Jennifer was a loving mother and wife, cherished by her family. She had tremendous love for all people and animals. She worked as a nursing and medical assistant and took great pleasure in helping the elderly. She loved her many pets and enjoyed showing horses. Jennifer found comfort and joy in the many dog and cat companions she had throughout her life. Jennifer is survived by her husband; children, Lillian and Alex; sisters, Suzanne Johnson and Sydney Paul; brother, Tim Usher; and her much loved therapy dog, Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at the FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 408 N. Bergamont Blvd., Oregon, at 10 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, with the Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding, followed by a luncheon and then burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will take place at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to four special angels, Kim, Julie, Nancy and Marsha, who gave so much support in her fight. I would like to express my condolences at this time to Jennifer's family. The Bible is a great source of encouragement at a time like this. A comforting thought is at Revelation 21:3,4 where it states “and he will wipe out every teat from their eyes and death will be no more neither will pain nor outcry be anymore the former things have past away.” This scripture gives us hope for the future! May Jehovah God bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time. For more encouraging thoughts, go to jw.org

We are so sorry for your loss. The God of all Comfort promises us that one day soon he's going to "swallow up death forever" and he "will wipe away the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) This has brought us comfort in our times of loss. We hope that it comforts you as well.
