Allan John Underberg

Underberg, Allan J. “Al” MADISON–Allan J. Underberg, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. He was born in Milwaukee, on May 5, 1929, the son of Edward and Velma (Watson) Underberg. Al proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 until 1952. After his discharge, he married Mary Bemiss in a small ceremony. Al began his career with the telephone company in Iowa and then joined Wisconsin Bell, where he remained there until his retirement in 1989. He loved working on his cars, fishing, going to casinos and helping others. Al and Mary also enjoyed dancing. Al is survived by his children, John (Angela) Underberg and Ann (Ellen Budden) Underberg; grandchildren, Haley (fiancé, Carl Gloede Jr.) , Kelly and Lindsey Underberg; and special friend, Eileen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary in 1992; son, Robert in 2010; and a sister, Marg. A memorial service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 with military honors being conducted. Visitation will be held at the cemetery from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Empty Stocking Club, PO Box 8058, Madison, WI 53708.
