Josephine M. Byrne

Byrne, Josephine M. OREGON/FITCHBURG-Josephine M. Byrne passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at Oregon Manor. She was born on May 7, 1926 in Madison, the daughter of Joseph and Ellen Fumuso. Josephine married John H. Byrne on Sept. 8, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed being with her family, knitting and crocheting, and she was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Church. Josephine is survived by her husband, John H. Byrne; son, John T. Byrne; sister, Ellen Becker; two sisters-in-law, Jan and Beverly Fumuso; two brothers- in-law, Robert (Mary Kay) and Ray Byrne; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin daughters, Jody Ann and Joan Marie; three brothers; three brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law. A funeral mass will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of mass on Friday.
