Frautschy, Gladys
BROOKLYN-Gladys Frautschy, age 83, of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on Wed., Oct.15, 2014, at Our House Memory Care, Janesville. She was born on April 26, 1931, in Blanchardville the daughter of Theodore and Mildred Grunnet. She married Leland Frautschy on Oct. 27, 1945, at Brooklyn Lutheran Church. Gladys was a member of Brooklyn Lutheran church. She was a lifetime farmer. She enjoyed baking and gardening. She is survived by sons, Russell (LuAnn) Frautschy and Roger Frautschy; daughter, Ann (Jeff Smith) Frautschy; grandchildren, Lindsay Barma, Shawn Irwin, Stephanie Nutt, Lexy Frautschy, Chase Irwin, Nicholas Frautschy, and Kaley Rose Frautschy; and great-grandchildren, Jasmine Barma, Jade Barma, and Logan Irwin. She is further survived by a brother, Jerome (Eunice) Grunnet; a sister, June (Fred) Armstrong; cousins; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at BROOKLYN LUTHERAN CHURCH, 101 Second Street, Brooklyn, at 10:30 a.m. on Sat. Oct. 18, 2014, with the Rev. Rebecca Ninke presiding. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 17, 2014, and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Leland and Glady were a big part of my parents life---met through buying a livestock trailer and then them coming to Iowa for the big 4th of July party at the farm--helping clean and cutting up chickens...what good memories! I will always remember them!!!! Love your family
