Obituary

MADISON- Janet J. (Bowers) Brewer, age 81, passed away peacefully at Rest Haven Care Center, on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014. She was born on April 5, 1933, to parents, Jim and Nellie Chard in Madison. Janet spent most of her life around the Madison Area, working for Rayovac and Holiday Inn. In 1976, she married Jim Brewer, Sr., in Madison. Janet was a loving wife, a compassionate grandmother and the matriarch of our family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and fishing. Janet is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Teresa (Mike) Yates, Nancy (Harold) Anderson and Melissa Steinmann (Bill Kelly); son, Ken (Jane) Bowers II; step-daughters, Linda (Tom) Gannon, Debra Behnke (Bill Redepenny) and Daria Brewer; step-son, Dan Brewer; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ken Bowers I; sister, Donna Rendle; brothers, Darrell and Larry Chard; and step-son, Jim Brewer, Jr. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 12:30 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
