Obituary
MADISON- Gary H. Anundson, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at his home. He was born on Dec. 6, 1943, in Madison, the son of Herbert and Sophia (Baron) Anundson. Gary was a lifelong resident of Madison graduating from Central High School in 1962 and served in the U.S. Army for almost 17 years. While stationed in Germany he met Margret R. (Bandholz) and they were united in marriage on Aug 22, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Gary retired from Graber/Saris of Verona as a foreman. Surprising to most, Gary was quite the athlete. He was an avid pool player, softball player and bowler. He participated in numerous softball leagues including an over 40 league. He enjoyed bowling competitively and scored a perfect 300 game on two occasions. In addition, he enjoyed bowling socially, participating in a couple’s league for twenty years with his wife and long time friends, Joe and Dee Balistreri. Leaving behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Margret; children, Audre (Brian) McGee and Andy (Candace) Anundson; adored grandchildren, Alexandra and James McGee and Mason and Owen Anundson; a sister, Cassandra Greuenberg; and brother, Stanley Anundson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dennis. A committal service will be at Roselawn Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, with military rites performed by the Madison Area Veterans Firing Squad. A memorial gathering celebrating Gary’s life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014. A special thanks to Rachel and the caring staff at Home Health United Hospice for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Health United Hospice.
