LaFlash, Mildred
FITCHBURG-Mildred LaFlash, age 87, of Fitchburg, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Sept. 29, 1926, in Medford, the daughter of Duane and Ida (Frenzel) Lord. She married Russell W. LaFlash on Sept. 10, 1949. Mildred worked at numerous places including Glen and Ann’s on Regent, Country Kitchen, in the health care field and then finished her working career in the laundry/dry cleaning service. In her spare time, she loved working in her garden and was known for her bountiful crop of vegetables and beautiful flowers. Mildred is survived by her sons, Sonny (Carol) LaFlash of Oregon, Harold (Greta) LaFlash of California and Dennis (Rhonda) LaFlash of Brooklyn; daughter, Shirley Anderson of Stoughton; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle (Todd), Christopher (Sara), Daniel, Margo (Jon) and Paige; great-grandchildren, Weslee, Shawna and Sean; two brothers; and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1999; son-in-law, Todd; brothers, Arthur and Donny; sister, Marsha; and brothers-in-law, Rudy and Tony. Private family services were held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I remember grandma always put an extra slip of paper in my birthday cards telling me about the weather and her latest crops. And now I pass down that love for gardening to her great grandson, Sean.
