Obituary

Hauge, Donald G. SUN PRAIRIE/COTTAGE GROVE-Donald G. Hauge, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Aster Retirement Communities in Cottage Grove. He was born on March 24, 1930, in Madison, the son of Oscar and Violet (Dennis) Hauge. Don graduated from Madison West High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was assigned to the 7050th Air Intelligence Service Wing stationed in Germany. After returning home he enrolled at UW-Madison earning a Bachelor’s degree in art, and soon after he met the love of his life, Beverly Magee. They were married on May 2, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. Beverly preceded him in death in January, 1995. Don worked for the Kroger Grocery Company for 48 years. He spent many hours in his gardens tending to his beautiful flowers. Don was an avid Brewers, Badgers and Packers fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; and his faithful dog, Muffi. Don will be deeply missed by Connie, Russell, Jenny and Sara Notstad who helped him with his many needs the past few years. We would like to thank the staff at Southern Care Hospice and Aster. As well as a special thank you to Maria, Madonna, Tricia, Fred, Tom, Dr. Kramper, Rhonda, Ryan and Caitlin. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, with Chaplain Thomas Moe officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
