David was indeed a wonderful person and someone the world will miss. Growing up with David and his brother Allen and sister Linda consisted of numerous visits to our Grandpa and Grandma Schumacher's home on Sunday afternoons. David was always the smiley and entertaining one of the Schumacher family. His grin alone always made you smile. He started his magic tricks young in life and continued them all his life. David, you will be missed by many but it's good to know God has a performer of your caliber in heaven entertaining friends and family alike. God Bless.

I too remember those Sunday afternoons at Grandma's house. Bouncing the tennis ball off the roof, watching the boys make their balloon animals, and just visiting in general. Dave had that wonderful quiet wit accompanied by that "grin". That grin always spoke a thousand words without even speaking one. A man like him will definitely be missed by all who knew him. And we were richer for having known him. Not only are we better for having known him, but heaven is richer to have one more wonderful soul. God bless all. Cheryl Schumacher, Green Bay, Wisconsin

To the Schumacher family: I will always remember Dave sharing music with those around him. I knew him at Eastside Lutheran and then once again at Abiding Shepherd Lutheran. I loved his love of music and will miss the impact he made on others. He was a good, kind Christian man and we held the honor of knowing him. Until we meet again Dave....enjoy the music of the angels. Rita Heyerholm

God could not have given me a better brother who looked out for me my entire life. When I was a little girl I could not say the word "owl." Dave taught me how to say it correctly. Five years ago when I broke my ankle and was unable to take care of myself, Dave and Vicki took me in for 6 weeks until I could go back to my own home. I will always be grateful for that. Rest well, my brother. You fought the good fight and are now with the Lord.
Love,
Linda

This is for the thousands of anonymous people who David touched. For several years my young daughter's favorite thing to do was to go to Little Amerika to see the 3 pm magic show. She loved the animal balloons and bought a few of the tricks to try herself. She asked for a deluxe magic kit last Christmas and has performed shows for her stuffed animals and a few friends (she's in 2nd grade). All inspired by David. She's very sad for your loss and will hopefully carry on his legacy. He truly was "Amazing". Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

My heart is heavy with sadness today. I worked with Dave for many years at Capitol Indemnity and we often would joke with him about the number of times he came out of retirement to come back and help us out when we needed his expertise. He was always willing to help, always had a smile and was always eager to share his knowledge with others. I will miss his laugh, the jokes he often shared with us, his card tricks and everything he contributed to bring happiness to others. My thoughts and prayers are with Dave's family and friends. I pray that the memories of his laughter bring a smile to your face and warmth to your hearts now and always. He was and always will be The Amazing Schu. ~Stacey Walstad, Madison, WI.
