Marcella Josephine Benesh

BENESH, MARCELLA (KURT) LODI-Marcella “Marcie” (Kurt) Benesh, age 92, died peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in Dane, on May 15, 1922, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Hauser) Kurt. Marcie married Paul Benesh on October 22, 1942 he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2008. In her younger years she worked as a beautician then began raising her family before becoming a waitress at Sunset & Dolphins. Marcie then went to work for Central Wisconsin Center in food service until her retirement. She had a variety of interests, including playing cards, ceramics, flower gardens and time spent with her friends at Settlers Trail but truly treasured most the time she spent with her family. Marcie is survived by her children, Stephen (Louise) Benesh, Mary (Matt) Ripp, Joan (Ronald) Kohn, Susan (Rodney) Sherwood and David (Chris) Benesh, all of Lodi; a son-in-law, John Hein; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Paul, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Hein, granddaughter Lisa Kohn Johnson and two sisters Mollie Ryan and Betty Wipperfurth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH AT ST PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 521 Fair Street, Lodi at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 with Father Chad Droessler presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, Maplewood Health Care and Home Health United for the wonderful loving care they gave Mom in her final journey.
