Luella Anna Buskager

Buskager, Luella Anna (nee Klahn) MADISON – Luella Anna Buskager, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at her residence after a long illness. She was born on July 15, 1919, in South Leeds, to Louis Klahn and Martha (Steffenhagen) Klahn. She was a member of a large family including six brothers and five sisters. In 1936, she met her life companion, Harold Buskager. They were married on Nov, 23, 1940. They had four children, Karen, Sanford, Robert and Linda. Luella had been a member of Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1956. She worked at Oscar Mayer and Co. and later at Ben Franklin. Luella had many interests and was a self-taught pianist, organist and guitarist. She was also accomplished in ceramics, knitting, crocheting and hand-quilting. Luella was the family card shark and when they played cards, everyone sought to be her partner. She is survived by Karen of Washington; Robert of Madison; and Linda (Rick) Smith of Arizona; grandsons, Michael (Mary Lou), Richard (Debbie) Pusateri and Keith (Heather) Wienke; granddaughter, Anna Luella Wienke; great-grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan, Rebekah and Luke Pusateri and Penelope and Corbyn Wienke; brother, Wilbur(Laura) Klahn; sister, Frances Mattinson; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her son, Sanford; and grandson, Vincent Pusateri. Funeral services will be held at MONONA EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4411 Monona Dr., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, with the Rev. John Reinke presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
